Lumpectomy....a piece o'cake! Almost felt guilty taking the pain pills, but didn't feel guilty AFTER taking them. Excellent care at Good Sam. Dr. Amanda Wheeler, breast surgeon (fellowships at Harvard and Stanford, also chief resident...worked on MY blue collar breast), did a beautiful job excising the little bastard. By day three, I was feeling like myself again, that is with one exception....I had a ten pound golden, bronze-purlpe and magenta medicine ball on my left chest! The colors really were striking. There was an opalescent quality to the multiple hues that reminded one of artisan pottery. But alas, my private northern lights show is fading to a jaundiced bruise...I'll always have the memory...
Yesterday I went for my follow-up with Dr. Wheeler. Just before I went night-night in the OR, I noticed that Dr. W was wearing a strand of pearls in the OR and of course, I began teasing her about dressing up for me. Maybe it was the Tylenol #3's, but I came up with a plan for my follow-up appt. I would tell her that when I took my dressings off Sunday, this (a single pearl) fell out. When I opened the folded paper containing the pearl, the look on her face was priceless!
The pathology report from this office visit will be covered in Hooter Hotline #3.
Love you all,
Thank you for all your love and prayers.
Jenny
